The first emoticons came about with the advent of electronic mail in the late 1970's. Since then, emoticons have become a staple of text messaging and social networking. The concept of an emoticon is simple: it is a single graphic character that represents an emotion. In the early days, many different characters were used to represent different emotions.

A text-based emoticon is formed by the combination of two characters The combination of these two characters means one thing only: an expression. These emoticons were first used in a letter form by Unix programmer Keith Bostic in 1982. Emoticons are known as smiley faces and emoticons. If you want you can generate from here, some of the best emoticons. They are used to show emotions like happiness, anger, sadness, surprise, happiness, or anything. Now, they are very common in many social media sites like Facebook, and they are used to add some emotions to the user's online conversations.

Evolution of Emoticons

Did you know that the oldest emojis had little to do with emotions? They were just a bunch of symbols. Back in the day, our computers would just show all the letters of the alphabet. As time went on, some symbols were chosen over others, and even the ones that were chosen never had any real meaning. Really, all smiley faces were just guesses at what people thought of certain things. Eventually, there were enough choices that people started using some emojis more than others, but even then, the selection was still just "guess work."

About a decade ago, the rise of the Internet and the instant gratification of social media changed the way we interact with one another. Emoticons became a way for increasing social media engagement and to communicate with one another and tell jokes without having to resort to our actual voices. But, as with all things, people began to misuse them and abuse them. Sometimes we wouldn't understand what emotions the emoticons were portraying.

How to Use Them

When it comes to texting, emoticons can make communicating with people a little bit easier. But, what do you do when you are composing a text message? You may get free emoticons for Facebook posts or twitter tweets. You can simply type out what the emoji mean, or you can use a keyboard, but that's not the only way. The simple way to use emojis is to use a free app, or you can use an alternative keyboard that lets you enter emojis using only your keyboard.

The internet is full of memes, gifs, and emojis, but how do you use them in your everyday life? The short answer to this question is simple: You just do. One of the most useful acts of using emojis is using them in text messages, to convey messages as quickly as possible with a single character.
